Screwball comedy & comedy in general
Screwball comedies absolutely own my heart. I've seen a lot but I'm always on the lookout for more. Would you mind listing your favourites here? Chances are I've seen them but just in case :) Here are my favourites:
Love Crazy (1941)
I Love You Again (1940) - I wish those two were more well-known, they're amongst my favourite movies of all time. The Thin Man also has elements of screwball comedy and I really love the series.
My Man Godfrey (1936)
His Girl Friday (1940)
Bringing Up Baby (1938)
It Happened One Night (1934)
The Awful Truth (1937)
Some Like It Hot (1959)
Libeled Lady (1936)
Hands Across the Table (1935)
Also, I'd be interested in finding more funny movies. I really love the Marx Brothers but I'm more for verbal comedy than physical. Do you have anything to recommend (besides I Love Lucy which I know well)?

Twentieth Century (1934)
What's Up Doc (1972), even if Streisand is older than her character.
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers! How could I have forgotten? The first, what, 6?
There are some more, but they are hiding. Mae West is verbal.

Ball of Fire (1941)
The Lady Eve (1941)
The Major and the Minor (1942)
The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer (1947)
Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House (1948)
Mr. Hobbs Takes a Vacation (1962)
Scared Stiff (1953)
The Quiet Man (1952)
Theodora Goes Wild (1936)
Libeled Lady (1936)
The Women (1939)
My Favorite Wife (1940)
Midnight (1939)
The Mad Miss Manton (1938)
Idiot's Delight (1939), which is odd, but worth it to see Gable as a song and dance man.
That Wonderful Urge (1948), which I just saw for the first time last month when it premiered on TCM
Father Goose (1964)
Oh! If you ever get a chance, see Strange Interlude (1932), which has to be the most unintentionally funny movie I've ever seen. I literally sat two friends down and showed it to them just to make sure I wasn't missing something deep and meaningful, and they thought it was hilarious, too.
Pretty much all of the Thin Man movies are wonderful -- comedic as well as whodunits.
I think the Doris Day-Rock Hudson movies of the '60s are really fun, too, despite Doris being dubbed "the world's oldest virgin" by critics. I love Doris, and Rock was so charismatic.
