I love this review! And it actually makes me want to see the movie, in spite of it not being very good.
As for my own fave noirs, I'm...actually not very sure what noir is. Part of the reason I joined the comm is because I know so little about classic films and want to know more. However, looking at Wikipedia and IMDB, it turns out I've seen very few of them, relative to how many there are.
BUT! Of the ones I've seen, it's hard to pick a favorite! I loveThe Petrified Forest. I love Alan's conversations with Duke, and I love the ending, for various reasons I won't share because of spoilers. And Key Largo, because there's nothing with Bogart and Bacall that isn't awesome. I love the whole structure of the film, and Frank's redemption and and and. Also, NORA! *love*
But possibly my very favorite is The Last Seduction. Linda Fiorentino is so amazing in that role, so perfect, omg. Does 1994 count as classic? Probably not. But so good! Classic in a different sense. :)
